I left the house around 3:30 PM.  I got to the ballpark around 4:45 PM.  Dad arrived around 5:15-5:20 PM.  I had a quick dinner at a new concession stand; Lo-Lo's Chicken & Waffles.  I had a chicken breast and a waffle.  I found a bag at the table I was at.  Nobody was looking for it, So, I claimed it as my own.  Sorry for the original owner.  I got to my seat.  Former MLB commissioner Bud Selig was honored before the game.  There were fireworks during the pregame announcements of the Diamondbacks starting lineup and The Star Spangled Banner.  Randy Johnson, who's being inducted into The National Baseball Hall of Fame & having his # 51 retired later this season, threw out the first pitch.  I recorded the intro video of the Diamondbacks taking the field.  The announced crowd of 49,043 was a sellout, and the 8th largest in Chase Field history, but there were a lot of no-shows.

As for the game, the Giants won, 5-4.  They broke loose in the 5th, shoring 4 and chasing D-Backs starting pitcher Josh Collmenter from the game in 4.2 innings.  Dad said after the game, "If Collmenter is the best the D-Backs have, we're in for a long season."  The D-Backs did salvage 3 runs in the 8th, bud didn't get closer.  The D-backs reminded me of how I played MLB 15 The Show, how I used relievers too quickly/starters not enough and relievers too often, but maybe that's just the opener.

There's a lot of new changes at the ballpark.  There's the aforementioned Lo-Lo's at the now defunct Fatburger location in leftfield.  The Arizona Baseball Club restaurant is now The Draft Room.  There's now a "Food Truck Alley" where food trucks are now parked inside gate A.  Other new concession stands are 2 America's Taco Shop stands, Paradise Valley Burger Co. stand, Taste of Chase, and the next (in)famous creation since the 18-inch bacon & cheese wrapped corndog, the ChurroDog!  I didn't try it yet.  ^^;  Maybe the next game, or Fourth of July, if Dad ever get the tickets.  There was one glitch that wasn't fixed; a single red led on DBTV (I guess that's how the Diamondbacks are spelling it) is still malfunctioning since Friday, and Daktronics, the company that provides the LED's for the D-backs, haven't come around to calibrate/fix that deviant pixel.  It's annoying.

Well, I'm off to bed.  I wrote this journal in Notepad, and I really need to sleep.  It's past midnight in Arizona, and I need my beauty sleep.  Nighty night.
