My sincerest apologies for not presenting this journal sooner.  I will no do this again.  :(  Also, WARNING!  This will be a long journal.  Better get a comfy chair ready.

The vacation went off to an auspicious start.  The plane shifted in a reverse #Timewarp.  The plane darted to the right, then mosey on over to the left.  (I have never seen the #RockyHorrorPictureShow, I know the reference from #TeamKnightRider & #TheDrewCarreyShow.  (Anybody remembers those two tv programmes?)  Other the turbulence from the thunderstorms near Memphis, the flight was smooth.  Dad got a rental car.  (This was the first time my family and I rented a car from Memphis' on-site rental car facility.)  We settled on a Chevy Malibu, I think.  (I didn't get a perfect photograph of the rental, so you'll have to tell me which car we got for the vacation.)  At least we had SiriusXM for this trip.  That's good.  We stopped by a burger joint called Huey's.  I had a Bluff City Burger.  ("Bluff City" is a less common nickname for Memphis, TN.)  It's the restaurant's BBQ burger.  Dad dropped Nancy & I at Aunt Christi's house, while he checked in at Candlewood Suites.  We mingled for a bit (too long!) before heading back to the hotel.  (We didn't go to bed until 1 AM.  That's a bit late, even for me.)

The morning was hectic.  The graduation ceremony was in the morning at the Landers Center (formerly the Desoto Civic Center, the hockey arena of the currently in hiatus Mississippi Riverkings minor league hockey team and the presently active Memphis Hustle minor league basketball team).  Dad, Nancy & I had to get breakfast at Chick-fil-A because our hotel doesn't serve free breakfast  (Don't blame us, Candlewood was the only remaining hotel in the area that still had rooms available.)  We had to bring along some relatives along to the ceremony.  (I will post a mild warning when posting pictures of the Landers Center.  Why?  Mississippi's state flag has the Confederate state flag (dubbed "The Stars and Bars" by some), and the US Civil war has become "taboo" in this day and age.)  We sat in the back of the area due to the crowd.  I did get some good pictures, but the moment when Caroline got her diploma, the pictures were either bad or blurry!  :(  I will ask my relatives for better pictures.  (Also, Dad still has the previous cell phone that I used to have, and he complained that the picture quality was starting to go.  He wants to get a new one.)  We did get some photos with the graduate after the ceremony, although we were forced out by ushers because the arena was booked with ceremonies all holiday weekend.  We had a party.  Jim Neely's Interstate Bar-B-Q catered the meal.  (I'll be honest; only the pulled pork was good.  The coleslaw & beans are mediocre.)  Dad and I went to Zaxby's for dinner.  I had their Chicken Fingerz plate.  (Yes, Zaxby's spell their "S" with a "Z."  #BecausePoorLiteracyisKewl! ) It was good.  I hope to try the chain again because the joint is nowhere past Texas.  I got tired and headed back to the hotel early.

Dad and Nancy got some supplies the previous day, so we had breakfast at the hotel Sunday.  Several people for the graduation had to leave, so Uncle Mark had to take them.  I barely watch the Monaco Grand Prix (simulcasted on ESPN), the Indy 500 (the last broadcast on ABC), and the Coca-Cola 600 (the longest-length race for Nascar's top-tier class).  This day was all about Caroline.  She shopped during the morning, and Caroline bought, amongst other things, and new Apple laptop.  I was getting hungry, so Dad and I went to Captain D's fast food fish place.  (Most of the restaurants are places I either never been to or don't remember going to when I lived in Memphis.)  I had their 3-piece fish meal.  It was good.  Dad even tried some of the fish!  I had dinner at Aunt Christi's place.  I was exhausted again, so I went to the hotel early for the second night.

On Memorial Day, Dad, Nancy, & I went to IHOP for breakfast.  I had the King's Hawaiian French Toast meal.  (I can have sweet as a diabetic.  Just in moderation.)  Dad checked out of the hotel, and we went to Christi's home.  At around 11:00 AM, we went to the military cemetery where my late Grandpa was buried.  It was a bit crowded.  Nancy was able to find the tombstone.  I took some pictures.  We drove past the church where Nancy was baptized.  It was deserted, and the congregation moved to a new church in a different part of town.  I ordered dinner from Buffalo Wild Wings delivered to Aunt Christi's house.  (The delivery options in Memphis is limited compared to Phoenix.)  After supper, we said our goodbyes and headed to the airport. The car was turned in.  We had an uneventful flight.  And that was it.

:icondarkhelmetplz:  Everybody got that?

It was terrific.  I hope you understand everything.  I'll update what's been going on in my life soon.
